If you’d like a rebate from Medicare, you’ll need a referral and a mental health plan from your GP. To find out more see below.
Call us on 0466 446 519 or email us at info@newwavepsychology.com for a confidential chat and to make an appointment.
On the day of our first session, please arrive at least 10 minutes early. This is to ensure you’re relaxed and ready for our session.
Individuals can self-refer to the service by contacting New Wave Psychological Services directly. You do not need a referral to see one of our psychologists.
However, if you want to claim Medicare rebates for sessions, you will need a referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP). To obtain a MHTP, please book in a longer consultation with your GP. At this consultation you will discuss your concerns with your GP and if eligible they will prepare the plan with you. If an individual has received a Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GP, they can then call to book an appointment.
Alternatively, individuals can be referred through another health care provider such as their GP. GPs and other health professionals can refer a client to us in any of the following ways:
Government or Private Sector Organisations may also refer clients to the service directly. In the first instance it is recommended that you contact New Wave Psychological Services so that your specific assessment/treatment needs can be discussed and a quote provided. Visit the contact page for our details.
